Hurricanes & Insurance...

     Property insurance is expensive in coastal areas, is sometimes difficult to obtain, and has high deductibles for all claims but very high deductibles for wind/hurricane claims.  As long as hurricanes roam the Atlantic Ocean,  South Carolinians will live under the threat of these storms and insurance companies will charge the high premiums, restrict coverage, or avoid the state entirely.  Is there any solution to this coastal property insurance crisis?  Henry Lowndes, Jr., the president of C. T. Lowndes & Company, believes a solution can be found.  He recently wrote a letter to the editor of the Charleston Business Journal on this subject.
