Bill Towles  –  Life & Health

I was born in Charleston on June 15, 1947 and grew up in the Low Country. I graduated from the University of South Carolina and enlisted in the US Navy, serving from 1968 to 1971 as a staff communications specialist stationed at Pearl Harbor.

After the Navy, I worked at Sears for 9 years in retail sales and then began my insurance career in 1980. I have always specialized in medical insurance and am licensed and certified for all forms of medical insurance for children to seniors. I have been named Broker of the Year by the Gilston Agency three times. The Gilston Agency is the largest health insurance broker in South Carolina.

I partnered with Henry Lowndes at C. T. Lowndes & Company in January 1989 and maintain an office at the C. T. Lowndes & Company office in Summerville. This relationship with the oldest insurance agency in South Carolina has been a very satisfying and rewarding experience for me.

I have two adult children and one grandchild. My favorite hobby or pastime is duck hunting.
