South Carolina's oldest insurance agency
Christopher G. Silcox – Account Executive
I
was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1969. After graduating
from Bishop England High School in 1987, I attended The College of
Charleston and graduated in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in
Economics. I married Evy Dickson, eldest daughter of Robert and Pam
Dickson, in 1997 and we have been blessed with two children, Sarah
and Robert
Currently, I am serving as a board member for the March of Dimes and am a member of The St. Andrews Society of Charleston, The South Carolina Society and The German Friendly Society as well as The Middleton Hunting Club.
I enjoy spending as much time as possible in the Lowcountry outdoors with my family and friends fishing, hunting, and sailing. The Lowcountry will always be my home but my wife Evy has opened my eyes to the rest of the world and we hope to someday be able to do some more traveling with our children.
I first started my career in the insurance business in 1988 in sales for C. T. Lowndes & Company. Hurricane Hugo arrived in Charleston a year later and had a significant effect on the insurance industry with many insurance carriers leaving the coast or simply going out of business. As a result, I was forced to pursue another career. I built docks for a few years and then I spent several years in the retail floor covering business managing several stores, first in Charlotte, North Carolina and finally back here in Charleston. I re-joined C. T. Lowndes & Company. in 1998 and became an owner in 2006.
Currently in sales, I am dedicated to our customers. Coastal insurance can be trying and difficult at times but I enjoy solving problems for our customers and explaining the ins and outs of the insurance process.
