The Sertoma Club of Charleston, at a luncheon meeting on Nov 6, announced that the 2013 Classic was a great success. Club President Debbie McKelvey presented checks to several local charities— Windward Family Services, MUSC Craniofacial Anomalies and Cleft Palate Center, Camp Happy Days, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston, Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding, Eagle Harbor Ranch, Florence Crittenton Programs of SC, and Trinitas Foundation.

These charities provide assistance to children with all sorts of special needs. High school cheerleaders sell the tickets to the event and raise much of the monies. High school kids provide the entertainment in the form of football and band music. Many of the fans are high school students.

This is why Sertoma speaks of their program as “children helping children”.

These organizations all rely on volunteer help. If you would like to do some volunteer work, contact one of these charities. The rewards of helping a child are immense!!

C. T. Lowndes & Company is very proud to have been the title sponsor of the 2013 Classic and look forward to helping the Sertoma Club again in 2014.
