This year, the staff of the Summerville office of C. T. Lowndes & Company decided it would be a nice gesture to give Thanksgiving dinner baskets to several deserving clients. Four clients were selected and each employee brought in an item from the menu. The clients came in to pick up their dinner baskets and were genuinely appreciative. In one case, the dinner was delivered to the client’s home.
In the Charleston office of C. T. Lowndes & Company, some of the staff were very instrumental in organizing and staging the DAMM Inshore Fishing Tournament in memory of three friends who passed away recently in a tragic accident. The event attracted over 150 fishermen and raised over $22,000 which was donated to three local charities in memory of those lost.
In the Walterboro office, the spirit of Thanksgiving is a year round event. The office holds a jeans Friday several times a year. On these days, employees pay $5 for the privilege of wearing jeans to work. This money is used to help an agency client who is in need. A baked good is given to an elderly person who lost their spouse. A banana pudding is made for a couple whose child was killed in an auto accident. A dinner is sent to an elderly couple who are just in bad health. A homemade cake is given to a client with cancer.
Be thankful for what we have and sharing with others – that is the spirit of Thanksgiving.
