Almost 15 years ago in November of 2001, Lee Besse moved from Miami to Summerville to join his son, Jason, at C. T. Lowndes & Company. Lee came to our agency with an extensive insurance background and was hired as the agency’s first Human Resource Officer. Time flies and after over 40 years in the insurance industry and nearly 15 years of dedicated service with our agency, Lee retires on March 31, 2016.

As we celebrate Lee’s retirement this week, we also find ourselves reflecting on the profound impact he has had on our agency.  During his time with C. T. Lowndes & Company, he has served on the Board of Directors and has provided the agency with valuable advice both on insurance and Human Resources matters.  Although too many to count, some of his key achievements include:

A.      Establishing a formal HR Department at C. T. Lowndes & Company

B.      Helping the agency staff grow from about 50 employees to over 100.

C.      Helping the agency grow from 5 offices to 8 offices.

D.     Assisting in the purchase of 5 other insurance agencies.

E.      Helping maintain excellent relationships with our agency partners.

On a personal note,

Lee, On behalf of the agency and all of our owners and employees, I congratulate you on your retirement and wish you the best of what life has to offer! We are grateful for your dedication, hard work, and service to C.T. Lowndes & Company; your knowledge and guidance has been invaluable to our agency!

Henry Lowndes, Jr.

CEO
