There is a little know Veterans Rehabilitation Program funded by the Federal Home Loan Bank which provides financial assistance to veterans who need to make repairs to their primary residence. This program is for low income vets or surviving spouse and the money available can be as much as $15,000.

BNC is a Federal Home Loan Bank and the local branch does participate in the program. The contact person at the bank is Army veteran Karl Zerbst and he can be reached at 843-452-3838. He can explain the program in detail.

This information comes from the David Slade article in the Sunday September 18 Post & Courier.

If you use this program to replace your roof, install a new heating and air system, etc., be sure to let your insurance agent know what repairs you made.
