Group Health Insurance
What is group health insurance?
A group health insurance plan is a health insurance plan that provides coverage to members of a group. Usually the group consists of employees of a company or members of an organization. A group can consist of as few as two people.
Because a group plan spreads the risk across a pool of insured individuals, the premiums can be kept relatively low.
In larger groups, there is usually no individual underwriting in a group plan. Thus, all employees of the business may participate in the group health plan.
In many cases, an employer may pay all or a certain percentage of the premiums for the employee.
Health insurance is always a complex subject with many coverage variations and many deductible options from which to choose. It is always best to consult a knowledgeable health insurance agent.
