Don Robbins's Profile and Contact Information
I grew up in “The Town of Friendly People”, St. George, SC., the son of the Chief of Police, and my Mom ran the family restaurant; the “Dixie Diner”. I learned to have a great deal of respect for anyone in either of those professions, and that I didn’t want to pursue either as my life work.
After high school I spent four years in the U.S. Air Force, and then attended Baptist College at Charleston (now Charleston Southern University). After graduation from college I got married, started a family and worked for Farm Bureau Insurance Companies from 1971-1996; opening the first branch office within a county (in Summerville), then as Agency Manager in Berkeley County (’79-’96). I started working in Commercial Lines Insurance in 1996 with the Goldsmith-Theodore Agency, and then joined C.T. Lowndes & Co. in 1998. I write and service mostly commercial lines insurance, but also write all personal lines; including life and health products.
I’ve always been active in community organizations; the S.C. Jaycees, Exchange Club, Sertoma Club, and Rotary Club. I’ve also been finance chairman, and a choir member at the Moncks Corner United Methodist Church for several years. I enjoy working with young people and have coached football teams with the Moncks Corner Recreation Football League and served as the President of the Athletic Booster Club at Berkeley HS for five years (’98 –’02), and still help them as much as I can.
I have been in the insurance business for forty-three years and count my years working at C.T. Lowndes & Co. as my most enjoyable and rewarding. I enjoy working for an organization that treats both its employees and clients as family, with a strong foundation of professionalism, integrity, and service – since 1850!!
